Todaiji Nigatsudo

Todaiji Nigatsudo is one of the Buddhist halls of Todaiji Temple in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, and was built during the Nara period. It is known for the Shunie (Omizutori) ceremony held every March, a traditional event that heralds the arrival of spring in Nara. The current building was rebuilt in 1669, has a stage-style structure, and offers an attractive view of the entire Nara cityscape.
